St. PADricks Day!

What do Greg Sullivan's leprachaun pants, Susan Hargraves goofy green head things, green Kool-Aid, and Taledega Nights all have in common? Our St. PADricks Day celebration! We continue to make a fuzzy line between homelessness and homefulness.
  • Watching Rich Pedersen trying to open a door while one of our homeless buddies showed him and five high-school students how to break-n-enter....priceless!
  • WE CAN'T HANDLE THE T.R.U.T.H.!!!! Five or six (I can't remember, I'm on two hours sleep) students from Bartlett High drove in and took over. They were awesome!
  • Ann Rowland brought a girl she is describing as her daughter's twin sister - I'm not buying it. It's the same person! At least she's honest about her son!
  • Grace and Morgan doing an Irish jig (kiind of?) and getting a huge round of applause....priceless!
  • "That's kind of annoying," one of our homeless buddies comments about our bagpipe music!
  • One of my most spiritual moments: Filling out the NCAA tourney pool with Hogart - we may not find them a home, but we'll teach them how to fill out a tourney sheet!
  • PAUL KETTERER SHOWED UP!
  • We had like 100 volunteers for dinner, and at one point Jani was cooking and serving all the food! (Not sure why it just changed fonts!)
  • Jay showed up, served food, prayed - he does more after work than the army does before noon.
  • Sue Baez made cupcakes for the kids - Sofia ate the cupcakes...and cookies...and more cookies.
  • Conner and his buddy saved my life and maybe the spiritual life of another!
  • FIRST TIME EVER IN PADS HISTORY - Bill Demeris brought a dumbell to the midnight shift, and we pumped. You can probably tell if you've seen us in the last week!
  • Can you beat Jill VanProoyen (I don't mean that literally - don't take it as a challenge). She comes in whenever we need her at 4:30 am and get's back home so her husband can go to work. SERIOUS NOTE: Pray for her neighbors!
  • Marilyn: Bible studier by night, PADS worker by morning!
  • Our own Dave Zimmerman is teaching a class at Willow on Wednesday nights - it's about his awesome book. If you're a Willowite, heck even if you're not, you should check it out.
  • Kristin...or Danielle (I think she's schitzophrenic) was back again....but far away from the bleach!
  • Jennifer and Heather have single-handedly devised a plan to wash both sides of the mats FOREVER!! But don't worry, we're beefing up Matland Security!
  • GiGi -a - Gogo, LIVE AT THE BREAKFAST SHIFT!
  • Who's the leader of the club that's made for you and me, M-A-R-Y-R-O-S-E (ok, it doesn't work very well!
  • Our new PADS documentary: Watch ReJean encourage and empathize with our buddies. You just don't get any better than the Twedts!
  • Our buddies telling the rookies that go outside early how awesome they are...priceless!
  • Why does it seem there's always one of our buddies that has to be Don Rickles?
  • Special thanks to everyone - Movie Night rocked, our nightime devotional led to an awesome conversation, the TV thing was pretty cool (I can't believe Tina still had rabbit ears!) and we rock!
  • COME BACK ODELL!!!!

Everyone should have one thing they look forward to, that energizes them, that gives them the feeling that God and them are working together to build his kingdom. For me, I think it's PADS. You guys rock. Thanks for making it so awesome!
