People are living out Acts 2, our ministry to the homeless has been incredible, groups are starting to begin, new opportunities with Lexington nursing home are on the horizon, our prayer group has set the stage for everything, and we're making a difference in the lives of our neighbors! Things are good.....but we're just getting started!
More and more people are contacting me saying, "I'd love to get connected in a group!" "What type of groups do you have?" "How can I get to do life together in a small group?" People want to grow in their faith, but right now there is no where for them to go. OK, they could go other churches stuff in Lombard, but I know there are some incredible leaders out there who aren't being utilized!
That's our next step - to organize groups so that each person in ROCK ON LOMBARD is hooked up in community in some way. To do that, we're gonna need people who have a passion for helping others grow in their faith and aren't afraid of the challenge of leading. Heck, I just became the Area Pastor of Lombard, and everyone knows I am no where close to being a pastor. So, even if you don't view yourself as a leader, who knows? Maybe Lombard will be the place where an Area Pastor who's not really a pastor leads a bunch of small group leaders who aren't really leaders......and we'll all just go live out Acts 2!
